So often we think we need to push through the tough times to prove that we can handle it.
We're exhausted, we're burning the candle at both ends but we just have to push through and hope for the best. We're probably not looking after ourselves as much as we'd like, we've got that tired eyes feeling but we're ignoring it in the hope that no one will notice that we're struggling because we're meant to be tough. Some of us feel the guilt, we feel we have to act a particular way or be there for as many people as possible because that's what we've always done.
I've written before about when the going gets tough, the tough get going. It's a family saying, we've had some tough times and we've had to push through them to get to the other side. One of the greatest lessons I've learned over the last ten years or so is that I can push through the tough times.
One of the greatest lessons I've learned over the last ten years or so is that I can push through the tough times, I'm sure as hell strong enough, but I've decided that I don't want to anymore. I want to give myself the best chance of getting through the tough times and part of that is allowing myself to sit in the shit.
I'm allowing myself to sit in the shit...
You will continue to have 'stuff' happen if you avoid what is truly going on. The pain of a situation can manifest itself in your body so quickly and you'll then be suffering from the upset of something but you'll also be living with a sore stiff body because you didn't deal with the shit when it was hitting the fan.
If it makes you sad, let yourself cry, if it makes you feel anger, let your aggression out in a healthy way. If you feel resentment, ask yourself why you might feel that way? Ask yourself why it's taken you so long to allow yourself to heal.
You are worthy of moving on from anything that has at one point tipped you over the edge. By letting yourself heal from your past, you are giving yourself so many opportunities to shine in your future.
The time is now for you to say yes to you.
